Bona Floor Care — we’re with you at every step
Floors — the silent backdrop to life’s milestones, from joyous first steps to solace in solitude — are often overlooked … but not at Bona. Since 1919, we’ve been creating a complete system of floor care products designed to work together, ensuring your floors get the love they deserve. Our innovations in cleaning solutions and tools not only save you time and make cleaning easier, but also bring professional expertise right to your home.
At Bona, we believe every clean can be better, every act of care can go deeper, and every solution can be smarter. That’s The Bona Difference.
CLEAN
Clean floors are the foundation of every beautiful home — and our top priority at Bona. Our waterbased, pH-neutral formulas are crafted to cut through dirt and grime effectively while being gentle on your floor. Each cleaner is thoughtfully balanced to deliver a powerful, residue-free clean you can see and feel.
CARE
At Bona, care means thinking beyond clean. Our refillable bottles, reusable microfiber pads are designed to reduce waste, while our ready-to-use spray mops use less water than traditional mop-and-bucket cleaning. Every detail in the Bona System is made to last — helping you care for your home with products that care in return.
SMART
Smart design makes every clean more effective. From microfiber pads that can be washed up to 500 times to mop heads engineered to cover more surface with fewer strokes, Bona products are built to save time and effort without sacrificing results, so you can spend more moments enjoying your floors, not maintaining them.

A history that makes a difference
For over a century, Bona’s heritage has shaped who we are today. What began in 1919 as a small family-owned grocery store in Malmö, Sweden — where our founder created a protective polish called BONVAX — has grown into a global brand trusted in more than 90 countries.
In 1919 …
Our story began over 100 years ago with Bona’s founder, Wilhelm Edner. At the time, his first love was selling coffee at his small grocery store in Malmö, Sweden. Little did he know that BONVAX would become his best-selling product.
In 1953 …
Bona released a breakthrough product on the European market: D-503 Floor Sealer!
In 1974 …
Bona expanded into the world of adhesive production, opening a plant in Limburg, Germany
In 1979 …
Bona became a pioneering force in the wood flooring industry by creating the first waterborne finish, removing toxic and hazardous chemicals from the product, and proving itself as a viable alternative to competitor products.
In 1984 …
Bona launched its first UV-finish, making its debut in the pre-finished market arena.
In 1995 …
Bona begins development of its own dispersions and introduces Bona Mega as a durable wood floor finish.
In 2002 …
Bona creates cleaning and care solutions for homeowners by introducing the Bona Wood Floor Care kit.

Drop the bucket and pick up the Bona Spray Mop
Why lug around a heavy bucket of murky water and a dingy, old string mop, when you can enjoy the light and easy, carefree option – the Bona Premium Spray Mop? Say farewell to outdated methods of mopping, and say hello to the mop that makes sense!
Bona Spray Mops make the process easier
The Bona Premium Spray mop is the new, modern way to clean your floors. Simply spray with a pull of the trigger for the perfect amount of Bona Floor Cleaner, then start mopping. It’s that simple!
String mops are difficult to manage, dirty, and cause damage
The old string-mop and bucket method is not only exhausting; it’s frankly unsanitary and bad for your floors because:
- You’re using a mop head that never gets clean, and you’re using bucket water that doesn’t stay clean. The result? Dirt and bacteria get pushed around on your floor.
- Excess water can cause wood floors to cup, and it may damage the finish. Plus, water is being wasted by the gallon!
The Bona Microfiber Cleaning Pad: no rinsing, no wringing
Our spray mop includes Bona’s Microfiber Pad with Dual-Zone cleaning action to break down dirt particles and trap them away. That combined with our rinse-free, streak-free floor cleaner leaves floors sparkling clean. When you’re done, toss the cleaning pad in the washer. It can be washed and reused up to 500 times!
Bona Floor Cleaners
Bona Floor Cleaners are waterbased and pH-neutral, which makes our cleaning solutions safe for your floors. Each cleaner is made for specific surfaces to help them look beautiful and last longer, quickly breaking down dirt and grime so you clean more with less effort.
Reasons you’ll love Bona Floor Cleaners
- Highly effective cleaning
- Leaves behind no residue
- Streak-free results
- Dries fast
- Safer Choice Certified and containing 90%+ certified USDA Biobased Content

Bona Microfiber Pads have patented technology built into every fiber, so no dust or dirt particles are left behind. Every mop pad is designed with a special purpose. Whether it’s a simple sweep or a more challenging pet mess, Bona has the perfect mop pad for the job.
Reasons you'll love Bona Microfiber Pads
- Dual-Zone microfibers to trap and absorb dirt for better cleaning

- Machine washable pad can be used up to 500 times

What BonaFide fans are saying
“Like a dream”
"Its been a nightmare keeping my floors clean with four dogs and two kids under five. I was so embarrassed by how dirty my house looked and I hated cleaning it with my old school mop bucket. This spray mop has changed my life. Its so easy and actually kind of fun to use. My floors have never looked better."
- Moppymon58c889
"Effort pays off"
Our contractor directed us to installing red oak floors 23 years ago when building our house. At times, with 2 kids and several dogs, we wondered if that was a wise choice. Cleaned our floors today with Bona’s Hardwood Floor Cleaner and now we know we made the right decision. Floors are clean, bright and shiny - looks like it could have taken hours, but got 1200 sq. ft. done in about 35 minutes.
- PunkieBrewster66
"Accessible and Easy"
"This made cleaning my floors easier than normal, which is helpful as a disabled woman. It’s so easy for me to switch between the different cleaning pads. I love that the mop is height adjustable. The microfiber pad has replaced my swiffer. It’s an excellent system for any home, but especially helpful if you have pets."
