Are there pet scratches on your floor?

If a dog, cat or other pet has caused scratches on your wood floor, follow the instructions for either lacquered or oiled surfaces below.

For lacquered floors

  • Vacuum the floor.

  • Spray and clean with the Wood Floor Cleaner and a Microfiber Cleaning Pad, or the Wood Floor Spray Mop. Then apply Wood Floor Polish according to the instructions. Wood Floor Polish repairs smaller micro scratches. If you think the scratches are too deep, we recommend contacting a Bona Certified Craftsman who can give you further advice and assistance.

For oiled floors

  • Vacuum the floor.

  • Spray the area with Cleaner for Oiled Floors, wiping up with a Microfiber Cleaning Pad, and allow to dry properly.

  • Apply Oil Refresher according to instructions, wiping up with a Microfiber Cleaning Pad.

  • If the scratches still are visible, sand the area with a very fine sandpaper. Then add oil. Make sure to use the same oil as previously used. If you need assistance, contact a Bona Certified Craftsman.
