The work began by stripping the old PVC floor and removing layers of wax, residue, and dirt from the flooring surface with Bona Power Remover, a quick, efficient, and aggressive cleaning agent developed for stripping polish, dirt, and old cleaner residue from resilient floors. Next, holes and tears in the floor were repaired using a two-part polyurethane filler and adhesive, Bona PU Filler, which is innovated for quick and durable repair of resilient floorings. Next, the team made necessary patches and leveled the largest patches. The largest places were made by cutting the carpet off, smoothing the base, gluing a new piece of the corresponding carpet in place, and patching and sanding the seams.  The preparation was completed by sanding the floor to clean up the patched areas and to create a flat, even surface.

Because of the excessive amount of patching required on the flooring surface, Bona recommended treating the floor with two coats of Bona Pure Color [RAL design 080 50 05], which offers a fast application process and provides heavy pigmentation to ensures full and complete coverage. The first treatment with Bona Pure Color revealed remaining imperfections in the floor and allowed finishing touches to be made before the final coat was applied. After the second layer was applied, decorative chip flakes were added to the floor providing more color and interest to the design. The surface was sealed with two coats of Bona Pure extra matte  finish, a hard-elastic finish that serves as a long-term surface protection for heavily trafficked industrial and commercial floors. Bona Pure is a 2K waterborne, clear, and non-yellowing formula.

The completed floor refreshed and transformed the space offering a beautiful design aesthetic. The entire process with the Bona Resilient Renovation Solution was completed in four days and provided an easy-care, durable, and hygienic polyurethane surface.
