Sand
To meet the high demands of sanding a sports floor, Bona offers two unique sanding solutions: Bona Diamond Abrasives for unrivalled fine-sanding before line-marking, and Bona Abrasives 8700 for superior sanding down to bare wood. Bona 8700 delivers an aggressiveness that's evenly balanced with gentleness to the wood surface. They're perfect for sports floors, as they effectively remove finish without causing scratches or fibre-ripping. Bona Diamond Abrasives and Bona FlexiSand form a unique composition, providing excellent adhesion for the final layer of lacquer.
Prime
Sports floors should flex when subjected to vertical impact. Add horizontal movement, natural wood expansion and contraction to the equation, and a lot of strain is put on the surface. This means that the primer needs strong adhesion and toughness to prevent the boards from moving. Bona Sportive Primer is a one-component waterborne primer for untreated wooden sports floors. It delivers excellent adhesion to wood, as well as crucial side-bonding-reducing properties, creating an optimal surface for further applications. With low vapour-permeability, it has a calming effect on wood, and reduces the effects of sudden changes of climate in a sports hall.
Finish
The finish provides the surface with its ultimate protection. And - just as for the primer - it needs to be able to handle movement, while protecting from water, scuff marks and general daily wear. Since it's responsible for both gloss level and slip-resistance, the finish has to be precise. Bona Sportive Finish ensures optimal sports performance, being neither too stiff or slippery. Compliant with governing standards for sports surfaces, it gives the floor superb scuff-resistance and high chemical-resistance. It's recommended by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) for the highest level of international competitions, including the Olympic Games.
Paint
The paint is what gives a sports floor its character. It's used for line markings, and for zone and court borders. An ideal sports floor paint is fast-drying, exhibits little-to-no seepage, and provides good adhesion for the next layer of treatment. Bona Sportive Paint is a unique line- and court-marking paint for use on finished wooden sport floors. It's available in eight mixable and vibrant colours, from which you can achieve a wide array of different shades and nuances. Maintain
The Sportive System consists of two cleaners: one for everyday maintenance, and one for occasional heavy-duty cleaning. Both remove the build-up of fats and dirt, restoring the surface's slip-resistance. The Bona PowerScrubber, used with the Bona Sportive cleaning solutions will leave the sports floor clean and safe, while helping it to regain its optimal friction.

Treatments
New installation
Many sports floors are installed pre-finished, and only need to be line-marked on site. They should be superficially sanded, and contain ceramic anti-scratch additives.
This means that conventional sanding tools will start to wear out after just a few square metres. But Bona Diamond Abrasives will get you a minimum of 100 m2 before a replacement is needed. And it enables outstanding adhesion, which is critical for success.
Renovation
The large size of sports floors often means a time-consuming sanding process. That's why working efficiently is so important.
Bona Belt HD is a heavy-duty belt sander with tremendous power. Equipped with Bona’s incredibly durable ceramic abrasives, the 8700 Series, any job will seem quick and easy. They're specifically developed for removing thick layers of lacquer.
Recoat
In order to prevent the surface and the line-markings from wearing through, the floor should be given an occasional overcoat, with an additional layer of Bona Sportive Finish.
Recoating a sports floor is a unique - but safe -method, and gives the floor renewed protection and lustre. The Bona FlexiSand 1.9, equipped with the Bona Diamond Abrasives, will make the procedure super-easy and effective.
The range
Sportive Finish
A two-component product made from polyurethane dispersion, with 70% from renewable raw materials.
It's a hard-wearing lacquer that's compliant with the European standards for sports surfaces, providing a safe surface for optimal performance.
Sportive Primer
A primer made from a polyurethane dispersion, with 70% from renewable raw materials. It's easy to abrade and apply.
This primer is for use on untreated wooden sports floors. It has excellent adhesion to wood, and side-bonding-reducing properties, which create an optimal foundation.
Sportive Paint
A quick-drying line- and court-marking paint, for use on finished indoor wooden sports floors.
For painting lines, as well as complete court borders and zones. It's available in eight mixable, vibrant colours. It has excellent coverage rate and is low in odour.
Sportive Cleaner
This concentrated detergent was specially formulated for the frequent maintenance of wood sports floors.
Bona Sportive Cleaner is suitable for machine cleaning, and leaves no dulling or slippery residue. For the removal of build-up, we recommend using Bona Sportive Cleaner Plus.
