Overview
Following excessive use of polymer/polish for maintaining the floor for several years, Pixel Federation’s floor started to look old and worn out.
After an initial quote for 940 square meters of administrative space was given to Pixel Federation, the company decided to test the Bona Resilient Solution on 140 square meters. After a successful test floor in the company's break room, Pixel Federation opted to renovate the remaining 800 square meter space.
Proof of Concept Results
Based on the client’s satisfaction with the break room test floor, the company’s remaining 800 square meters were renovated using the Bona Resilient Solution.
The Process
The floor was inspected for damages, cracks and open gaps. After the inspection found no evident problem spots, the floor was cleaned and prepped using a Bona Flexisand 1.9 equipped with a Bona Connect Disc and Bona Resilient brushes along with Bona Power Remove R. Due to the excessive use of polymer/polish in the past, the team had to repeat the cleaning process several times and adapt the standard guidelines.
After the floor was clean and dry, two layers of Bona Pure HD were applied to provide added durability.
The Results
Pixel Federation received the following benefits by using the Bona Resilient Solution to renovate their rubber coin floor:
- Beautiful - The new floor design reinvigorated the look of the office and their break room by utilizing Bona Pure Colour
- Durable - Bona Pure added extra durability to the surface and protects the new color from being damaged by contaminants
- Sustainable - By renovating their floors rather than replacing them, Bona and Pixel Federation were able to prevent 10,670 kilograms of carbon dioxide from being emitted into the environment and save 52,000 kWh of energy
