The CitizenM Hotel in Southwark Bankside is celebrated for its modern, stylish, and artistic design, offering a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere that resonates with its guests. The lobby, a focal point of the hotel, is an open-concept space that combines sleek furniture with bold art pieces, creating a dynamic environment that inspires creativity and relaxation. At the heart of this setting is the wood floor, a design element that brings warmth and natural texture to the contemporary aesthetic. The floor's high-quality, light-colored wood complements the hotel's minimalist yet cozy vibe, enhancing the overall ambiance and providing a seamless transition between the eclectic art displays and the inviting seating areas.

To maintain and elevate the quality of this essential design feature, the wood floor underwent a meticulous renovation using Bona products, specifically selected for their superior performance and finish. The flooring itself, is comprised of finger mosaic oak pieces, which are laid on their edge over the 110 square metre area. This construction uses the timber efficiently, with low material wastage combined with a greater thickness of wood designed for longevity. The process began with the application of Bona Classic Prime, which prepared the surface by retaining the wood's natural characteristics and ensuring a uniform appearance. This was followed by two coats of Bona Traffic HD, a high-durability finish that not only protects the floor from the wear and tear of heavy foot traffic but also preserves its aesthetic appeal. With the floors being returned to use in just 12 hours after the final lacquer coat, the hotel lobby was open for guests again in the shortest time possible. The result is a beautifully restored floor that harmonizes with the hotel's artistic ethos and continues to captivate guests with its elegance and warmth.

The renovation has had a significant impact on the hotel's ambiance, reinforcing CitizenM's commitment to offering a stylish and comfortable environment. By choosing Bona products, CitizenM Hotel has ensured that the lobby's wood floor not only meets the demands of busy urban life but also enhances the guest experience, making it a true reflection of the hotel's innovative and welcoming spirit.
