Overview
In May of 2021, The SGH Warsaw School of Economics embarked on a much-needed renovation of its gym. The renovation to the existing gym was desperately needed as the sport floor had become damaged, scuffed and quite frankly dangerous to play on due to the worn surfaces. It was quite hard to even see the game lines anymore due to the wear and tear over the years. In addition to the floors, the entire space was renovated to include new basketball hoops and boards, freshly painted walls, ceilings, doors plus new lighting to modernize the entire gym space.
Initially, the goal was to replace the floor but after hearing about the benefits of floor renewal offered by the Bona Resilient Solution, they decided to renew the floor instead. The overall gym renovation had originally been delayed for years due to the high cost of replacing the resilient floor. But with the innovative and new Bona Resilient Solution, the university no longer had to wait due to the significant cost savings.

The Process
- Bona Power Remove R at a dilution rate of 1:5 was used to strip and clean the existing floor
- Next, the team used Bona PU filler to repair cracks on the floor
- A wet stripping technique was used with Bona Diamond abrasives and Bona FlexiSand to prepare the floor
- The Bona Power Scrubber removed the remaining slurry
- The team applied Bona Pure Colour in two different colours, Ral 1001 and Ral 1018
- Bona Supersport line paint was used in Ral 9016 to provide the perfect game lines
- A final application of Bona Supersport Pure HD in two coats provided durability and protection to the final floor

Applying Bona SuperSport Pure HD
"I like the simplicity of applying this product. The two-coat application gives confidence of coverage, and the products dry quickly and smoothly. Game lines were achieved with dedicated tape without any bleeding. The colors are nice, vibrant and support the creativity of the designer. The Bona Resilient Solution allows you to focus on your work and not on application problems.””
