Dedication to sustainability

At Bona, sustainability is at the core of everything we do. To be the best company we can be, we know that we must do what we can to protect our environment, and help make the world a better place.

Water-based

Swedish waterborne technology means limited toxic fumes and low VOCs, so there's no need to vacate your home during the finishing process.

Dust-free sanding

Dust containment systems make refinishing wood floors clean and safe by reducing airborne dust by up to 99.8%. (Traditional wood floor finishing methods can produce wood dust particle counts of 200 times over the OSHA limit.)

Greenguard

GREENGUARD Gold Certification that considers safety factors to account for sensitive individuals (such as children and the elderly), and ensures that a product is acceptable for use in environments such as schools and healthcare facilities.

Safe Formulas

We are completely transparent about the ingredients in our product formulas, and why they're safe. You'll find them listed them on each individual product page.

Safer for kids & pets

As babies learn to crawl or our furry friends nap on the floor, you can rest assured in our commitment to formulating products that are safer around the most precious members of our family.

No animal testing

Our pH-balanced cleaners and polishes are formulated and tested in our own labs, using the latest innovative techniques. We would never test anything on our furry friends.

Reusable materials

We reuse materials within our own production, and design our products to reduce landfill clutter. Our Bona Microfibre Cleaning Pads are machine-washable up to 300 times, helping to protect our shared environment.

Refillable bottles

Our spray bottles and mop cartridges are easily refillable with our economy-size cleaners, to eliminate unnecesary waste - and save you money.

Encouraging communities

We partner with local and global initiatives to promote environmental awareness and sustainable jobs. Helping communities become more self-sufficient is vital to the success of our shared world.

Hand In Hand

Hand in Hand is an NGO (non-governmental organisation) whose mission is to reduce poverty and child labour through sustainable job-creation that raises family income. They do this through social and economic empowerment of some of the poorest and most marginalised people, with a particular focus on women.

Local support

We're taking an active part in the "Plant a Tree" programme, in association with Vi Agroforestry. To date, we've planted over 3,000 trees over the past six years.
