Nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Vinkeveen, the Netherlands, this classically designed home offers a serene view over the pristine waters of the local lakes. The interior of the home is graced with a stunning 200 m² European oak floor laid in a traditional herringbone pattern. While the timeless elegance of the flooring was undeniable, years of use had dulled its natural beauty, necessitating a renovation that would both preserve its classic charm and infuse it with contemporary durability.

To achieve this, the homeowners chose Bona Craft Oil 2K Snow and Bona Traffic HD Raw, products renowned for their ability to enhance and protect wood floors. Bona Craft Oil 2K Snow was applied to bring out the rich, inherent hues of the oak, adding a luminous quality that highlighted the intricate herringbone layout. Following this, Bona Traffic HD Raw was used to provide a durable, natural-looking finish while helping maintain the raw appearance of the wood.

The renovation seamlessly blended classical design aesthetics with modern refinishing techniques, resulting in a floor that not only complements the home's traditional architecture but also offers enhanced durability. The revitalized flooring now stands as a testament to the harmonious fusion of past and present, enhancing the overall ambiance of the home and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that reflects the beauty of its lakeside location.
