Alice Collyer (Instagram) was determined to rejuvenate her home's flooring, initially faced with the challenge of restoring a poorly treated 6mm oak engineered floor that had not withstood the demands of her busy household. The flooring was not only unsightly but also posed slip resistance issues and showed signs of premature wear. Committed to restoring the floor’s former appearance while choosing a thoughtful renovation approach, Alice set out on a quest for solutions that would blend seamlessly with her Scandinavian-inspired décor while ensuring long-term durability.

Upon discovering the Bona brand through social media recommendations, Alice was connected with Andrew Biss of Strippers Flooring Ltd , a Bona Certified Craftsman renowned for their expertise. Andrew listened attentively to Alice's concerns and visions, reassuring her with a plan that included Bona products with low VOC content and Bona dust containment sanding equipment.

After a thorough consultation, they decided on Bona Craft Oil in the Misty shade, overcoated with two layers of Bona Traffic HD Extra Matt, achieving a perfect balance of style and functionality. The meticulous process involved applying color samples directly onto the sanded floor, allowing Alice to make an informed decision that reflected her personal taste. Here, the subtle pigmentation of the Misty Craft Oil 2K produced a lighter, fresh appearance whilst expressing the grain tastefully.

The result was a remarkable transformation over a five-day renovation period, using Bona sanding equipment and dust containment to help reduce airborne dust and disruption. Alice expressed immense satisfaction with the outcome, stating, "We couldn't be happier with how the floor looks and feels now; it's completely transformed the house. The wood, once a source of frustration, has been brought back to life, looking even better than when first installed." Thanks to Strippers Flooring's dedication and the high-quality Bona products, Alice’s flooring now reflects the lasting appearance and performance achieved through professional renovation.
