TDS Application Notes
1) Check the colour code and the batch number on the paint container. Only use paint from the same batch number on the same floor. Alternatively, the entire amount of paint that is to be used can be carefully mixed together in a separate container to ensure colour consistency. 2) Mix the paint thoroughly and pour the required amount into a separate container such as a Bona Mixing bucket. 3) While machine stirring, slowly add 9% Bona R Hardener (one full bottle per bucket) into the mixing bucket. Stir thoroughly for at least 1 minute. 4) Allow the mixture to react for at least 5 minutes prior to application and use the mixture within the recommended pot life of 2 hours. 5) Apply the mixed paint using a Bona SuperCoat Roller (11 mm pile) at approx. 12-15 m²/L. Roll crosswise with a smooth flowing motion avoiding accumulations of product. 6) Additional applications of Bona Pure Colour should be carried out between 2 and maximum 12 hours after the application of the earlier coat. If the previous layer of Bona Pure Colour has been allowed more than 12 hours drying time, then a light intermediate sanding with a Bona Scrad Pad must be made to ensure adhesion. After sanding, clean the surface thoroughly before applying the next layer. 7) Complete the treatment with one to two layers of the appropriate Bona Lacquer. Note: Bona Pure Colour should never be used as the final wear surface. The curing process takes approximately 3 days, (90% cured in 24 hours, 100% after 72 hours) in good conditions. To support and to speed up the drying process, suitable ventilators are recommended. If Bona R Creative Chips are to be used, they should be distributed evenly on the final layer of Bona Pure Colour immediately after its application. Intermediate sanding to help level the chips should only take place after the application of the first layer of lacquer is suitably dried. A subsequent layer of lacquer should then be applied within 24 hours.
