Susanne has a patio at the back of the house, under a beautiful large tree. It is wonderful that the tree shades the terrace on hot summer days, but there is one problem: the tree also helps to really soil the terrace especially during the harsh winter months. Every spring Susanne faces the same challenge of getting it clean, so she can enjoy a relaxing summer season with the family on the patio.

Even without the terrace being under a tree, autumn and winter weather eats away at the surface, it gets dirty, grey, dull and sometimes so bad that algae and mold begin to grow on it. A couple of years ago, Susanne discovered how to best tackle the problem she faces every spring:

“It has never been so quick and easy to get our deck clean from dirt and algae. Instead of spending a whole day cleaning with a brush, I rent a Bona PowerScrubber.  For the three years in a row, it provides faster and better results for a beautifully cleaned outdoor deck.  No doubt about it. What a time saver!” says Susanne.

Not time-consuming or tedious - just fun!

Cleaning a large terrace by hand with a hard-bristle brush is a time-consuming job.  Plus a pressure washer is far too aggressive for the porous material of a wood deck. When Susanne first tried a Bona PowerScrubber, she immediately noticed how effective and easy it was. The machine creates a visual cue that it is working form the clean deck to the dirty water in the tank, you clearly see the difference between cleaned and not cleaned areas.

This is what Susanne's terrace looked like before she cleaned it.

A significant difference between the part that has been cleaned and the part that has not yet been cleaned with the Bona PowerScrubber.

And this is what it looked like after cleaning with the Bona PowerScrubber and a new layer of Bona Decking Oil.

“It’s hard to believe such tedious and boring spring work has become fun. The Bona PowerScrubber is easy to handle and the best thing is that you see the fantastic result immediately, which makes it really fun. The only thing that is difficult is that my husband Mathias is constantly trying to take over cleaning the outdoor wood deck. He is welcome to run all other machines in the house, but the Bona PowerScrubber is mine and it is here to stay! ” says Susanne.

Thanks to the Bona PowerSchrubber, Susanne can enjoy both the job and her terrace. The job that used to be time-consuming hard work has become an easy and convenient job to perform.
