Prepare and protect
Preparation
Carefully prepare the deck by deep-cleaning it, using the Bona PowerScrubber and Bona DeepClean W.
The PowerScrubber’s effective cleaning goes deep into the wooden fibres. Regular high-pressure cleaners, with their circular brushing, don't clean anywhere near as well, and often leave annoying swirl marks.
Protection
Bona Decking Oil keeps outdoor decks as good as new. It seeps deep down into the wood, and provides decks with robust, year-round protection.
Our formula greatly enhances the oil's protective properties. A deck will experience less cracking and UV-bleaching, and have less risk of water penetration.
Step-by-step
Follow the steps below to bring an outdoor deck back to life. The Bona PowerScrubber is comfortably ergonomic for upright use and smooth movement on all kinds of surfaces, while Bona DeepClean W and Bona Decking Oil are low in VOCs and odour.
Step 1 - Rinse
Rinse the deck well, with clean water from a hose, and let it dry completely.
Step 2 - Prepare
Fill the Bona PowerScrubber tank with Bona DeepClean W mixed with clean water (with a dilution ratio of 1:5). Attach the orange brushes to the underside of the Bona PowerScrubber.
Step 3 - Deep-clean
Run the Bona PowerScrubber along the grain of the wood systematically, carefully overlapping each pass by around 20 cm.
Step 4 - Rinse
When all of the dirt and algae have been removed, rinse the deck once more with clean water, and let it dry completely.
Step 5 - Coat
Using a brush, coat the deck with Bona Decking Oil.
Step 6 - Buff
Finally, to ensure optimal absorption, buff the deck with the Bona FlexiSand and a cotton cloth. Enjoy your beautifully restored deck.
