Bona Premium Spray Mop for Wood Floors

Frequently Asked Questions
How many m² can I clean using the Bona Spray Mop?
This entirely depends on how dirty your wood floors are!
Will I remove the natural penetrating oil from my oil or hard-wax wood floor by mopping it?
No, our pads will not remove oil from your floor. The Bona Oiled Wood Floor Cleaner also nourishes the oiled wood floor whilst cleaning.
My Bona Spray Mop has stopped spraying, what happened?
If your mop is not spraying properly, assure the mop is fully assembled. Remove the refillable cleaner bottle from your Mop and make sure the mop is fully assembled. Return cleaner bottle by pushing down firmly with two hands until you hear an audible click.
Why should I use a Bona Premium Spray Mop instead of a steam cleaner?
We never recommend using a steam cleaner on a wood floor. The steam / moisture is pushed down forcefully between the boards or blocks and over time can cause the wood planks to warp and move. Using a gentle cleaner with a fine mist spray is safer for your floor and will not damage it. The ideal method is the Bona Spray Mop which uses just a very fine spray of cleaner to effectively remove dirt and grime and dries almost instantly - leaving no residue or streaks.
Can I swap between different cleaning solution cartridges as needed?
Yes, it's no problem to switch between all 4 Bona Floor Cleaners that are offered in a refillable bottle. Try any of our specialty cleaners including: Bona Wood Floor Cleaner, Bona OxyPower Wood Floor Deep Cleaner, Bona Hard-Surface Floor Cleaner and Bona OxyPower Hard-Surface Floor Deep Cleaner.
Can I refill the Bona Spray Mop bottles?
Yes, the economical refill packs are designed to refill our trigger sprays and spray mop bottles.
Can other pads (e.g Swiffer) be used?
The Bona Spray Mop can only be used with one of the Bona microfibre pads which have a velcro strip for fast and easy attachment.
Can the bottle be filled with other cleaning products?
Proper functionality of the mop and streak-free cleaning results can only be guaranteed if one of the Bona ready-to-use cleaners has been used.
How tall is the Bona Spray Mop after it's been assembled?
When the Spray Mop is fully assembled it is 129 mm tall (approx. 51 inches).
Can the Bona Spray Mop be disassembled?
No, it is designed to be assembled one time only.
What is the difference between the Bona Wood Floor Cleaner and the Bona Hard-Surface Floor Cleaner?
Both the Bona Wood Floor Cleaner and the Bona Hard-Surface Floor Cleaner leave no dulling or sticky residues behind. Both are also GREENGUARD GOLD Certified for indoor air quality. Bona is committed to manufacturing the "best formula" for your specific flooring type. Can I store my spray mop with the cartridge in place?
Yes
The original cartridge that came with my spray mop is now empty, what can I refill it with?
To keep your spray mop working effectively, always use Bona Floor Cleaners. These cleaners come in 850ml cartridges that fit perfectly inside the mop. Additionally, they are also available in larger 2.5 litre and 4 litre sizes for refilling your original cartridge. Keep in mind that using any other cleaner will invalidate the warranty of this product.
We have pets in our home. Can we use the cleaner in the Bona Spray Mop?
Yes, Bona Floor Cleaners are designed for use in homes, including homes with pets. Always use the product according to the label directions and allow the floor to dry before pets resume normal activity on the cleaned area.
Can I use Bona Polish or Refresher in my spray mop?
No, to apply Polishes and Refreshers, use the product directly from the bottle and spread evenly with a Bona Microfiber Applicator Pad, following the instructions on the bottle.
Can I use a Bona Microfiber Dusting Pad on my Spray mop?
Yes, Bona's Microfiber Dusting Pad can be attached to the holder on the spray mop as a space-saving measure. However, the dusting pad should only be used dry and must never be used as a replacement for an appropriate cleaning pad.
Can I use the same spray mop with both Bona Wood Floor Cleaner and Bona Hard Surface Floor cleaner?
You can interchange Bona Wood Floor Cleaner and Bona Hard Surface Floor Cleaner cartridges in the same Bona Spray Mop. To ensure optimal results, we recommend that you keep two Bona Microfiber Cleaning Pads and use one for each floor type.
How often should I clean the Bona Microfiber Cleaning pad for my Spray mop?
The Bona Microfiber Cleaning Pad can be reused up to 500 times with proper care. When cleaning the pad, use either hand or machine wash at a temperature of 60°C with detergent but without bleach or fabric softeners. Finally, allow the pad to air dry or tumble on a low setting.
I find the Spray mop hard to push on the floor do you have any tips?
To ensure optimal friction between the pad and the floor surface, take the Bona Microfiber Cleaning Pad off before starting to clean the floor. Place it cleaning side up on the floor and spray with Bona Floor Cleaner 3 to 5 times. This will dampen the pad for sufficient use as you continue to occasionally spray while cleaning your floor.
I can’t get the cartridge to click in place. What can I do?
Before use, ensure that the cap is fully tightened and threaded correctly. When standing upright on the floor, push down on the cartridge to hear a click. If a click is not heard, press in the cartridge release button while simultaneously pushing down. Finally, double-check that the cartridge is securely in place.
My spray mop sprays a few times and then stops. What can I do?
To ensure that the cartridge is fitted correctly, remove it from the spray mop and check that the cap is fully tight. Reinsert the cartridge until you hear a click. If there is still an issue, apply some pressure on the cartridge from above. If you are able to spray for 10-15 times in sequence, this indicates that the mop is functioning correctly. However, if this does not solve the problem, please return the cartridge to its retailer.
I can’t get the cartridge out of my spray mop, what should I do?
If the cartridge will not eject from the mop, push and hold the grey release button, then push down on the cartridge while holding the grey cartridge release button then pull the cartridge up and out of holder, to see if it will now release.
