Nestled within the historic walls of the Tower of London, The Keys is a secret gem known for its exclusivity and storied past. With a guest list that includes senior members of the Royal Family, A-list celebrities, and esteemed musicians, this hidden pub demands an atmosphere of both prestige and warmth. The pub's unique décor, featuring historic artifacts like a Yeoman Gaoler’s execution axe and a framed Rudolf Hess signature, adds to its allure. However, after 15 years of wear and significant historical events, the oak parquet floor, just over 50 square metres in area, required a complete renovation to restore its former glory. The Chapman Brothers (https://frenchpolisherslondon.com/floor-sanding-and-finishing/), renowned for their expertise in high-profile restoration projects, were entrusted with this task, selecting Bona products as the trusted choice for their unparalleled efficiency and aesthetic appeal.

The renovation aimed to balance minimal downtime with the highest quality finish, critical for an establishment with such a prestigious reputation and a tight schedule due to an upcoming Yeoman Warder swearing-in ceremony. Using Bona's cutting-edge dust-free sanding system and low VOC products, the Chapman Brothers meticulously executed the project while ensuring the protection of the pub's treasured artifacts. The process began by repairing and resetting damaged parquet blocks using Bona Vertical adhesive, followed by a comprehensive sanding regimen with Bona green ceramic abrasives. The floor was finished with one coat of Bona Prime Classic UX and three coats of Bona Traffic HD Anti-Slip, offering the perfect combination of durability and enhanced slip resistance, under both wet and dry conditions, for public celebrations.

Dominic Oughton of Historic Royal Palaces praised the outcome, stating, "I would just like to express my appreciation for the works completed to The Keys Club floor. The renovation achieved a better-than-expected finish, which everyone from the Club Chairman to visiting guests has positively commented on." The successful transformation of The Keys has not only rejuvenated its historic charm but also reinforced Bona and The Chapman Brothers as the go-to choice for high-quality, professional workmanship in some of London's most celebrated landmarks.
