Overview
The Schill Dental Clinic was founded in 2002 with a promise to provide the best possible care for its patients. When the clinic's worn PVC floor needed renovation from years of use, the team decided on a monolithic surface to protect against contaminants. Additionally, a monolithic surface offered a safer, healthier option standing up to repeated cleanings and disinfectant use. The clinic also hoped to find a floor renovation solution that could work around the heavy and expensive dental clinic chair. The Bona Resilient Solution was the ideal system that fit all the clinic’s needs.
The Process
First, damaged areas of the floor were sanded with Bona Abrasives. Holes, cracks and gaps were repaired using a two-part polyurethane filler and adhesive, Bona PU Filler, which is innovated for quick and durable repair of resilient floorings. Then, a final sanding pass of the floor was completed.
Next, the team began the cleaning process by applying Bona Remove R, a quick, efficient, and aggressive cleaning agent using the Bona Flexisand with Bona Diamond Abrasives. Then the floor was cleaned with a Bona Power Scrubber. Once the floor was clean and dry, the team began applying the first coat of Bona Pure Colour a hardwearing 2K waterborne PUR-based paint developed for renovation of resilient floors. After the first coat was dry, a second coat was applied with the addition of Bona Creative Chips to create a decorative, premium design aesthetic. Finally, the team applied two layers of Bona Pure, a clear, 2K waterborne, hard-elastic finish that serves as long-term surface protection.
The entire process was seamless, quick and there was no need to disassemble and move the clinic chair during the renovation process.
The Results
