Natural solutions for healthy floors
Bona's complete range of oils are renewable, made from raw vegetable materials, and containing exceptionally low levels of VOC.
Their high oil- and minimal solvent-content ensure a superior degree of saturation, for healthy and long-lasting floors. Bona oils are based on linseed, castor and safflower. Thanks to the polyunsaturated fatty acids they contain, these all-natural wood-preserves have particularly good drying behaviour. Bona oils are cobalt- and MEKO-free.

The Bona Oil System, in combination with our straightforward and effective treatment steps, give you the power to fullfil your unique floor vision, with complete Bona confidence.
Staying natural
Give your floor a natural, raw touch with a non-pigmented Bona oil. It's a typically Scandinavian look, achieved by following our simple and effective treatment steps. A natural and authentic wooden floor is the trend - let us help you live it and love it.
Sanding
Prepare the surface with the Bona FlexiSand and Bona PowerDrive. Start off by sanding with Bona Abrasives 8700 (grit 50). Next, use Bona Abrasives 8300 (grits 60 & 100), and finish up with Bona Net Alox (grit 120). This will give you a wonderfully smooth surface, good and ready for the oil application.
Oiling
Apply neutral Bona oil. For maximum penetration and minimum oil waste, apply it using a Bona Wool Pad.
Buffing
Apply more oil until the surface is saturated. Then buff the floor in alternate directions, using the Bona FlexiSand with a Bona Green Pad. Remove excess oil with cotton cloths immediately, and let the surface dry. And that's it - the floor is ready to enjoy.
Adding colour
With a simple and straightforward process, Bona oils can be combined or customised to create limitless tones and effects to suit any environment. This gives you the flexibility to enhance the natural character of wood, and create dramatic new looks with ease.
Sanding
Prepare the surface with the Bona FlexiSand and Bona PowerDrive. Start off by sanding with Bona Abrasives 8700 (grit 50). Next, use Bona Abrasives 8300 (grits 60, 100 & 120), and finish up with Bona Diamond Abrasives (grit 120). This will give you a surface that's good and ready for the oil application.
Colouring
Apply the desired coloured oil thinly using an oil-resistant rubber-bladed applicator, a stainless steel trowel, or a Bona Wool Pad. Then pass over the surface with more oil, until it's saturated.
Buffing
Buff the floor in alternate directions using Bona FlexiSand and a Bona Red Pad. Remove excess oil with cotton cloths immediately, and let the surface dry.
Creating texture
To create an optimally-brushed surface, the usual sanding procedure won't be enough. But with the unique Bona Brush Technology, you'll have the tools you need to add depth and texture to the surface before oiling.
Coarse and medium sanding
Prepare the surface using the Bona FlexiSand and Bona PowerDrive Connect. Start off by sanding with Bona Abrasives 8700 (grit 50), and follow up with Bona Abrasives 8300 (grit 80), before brushing.
Texturing
Switch to metal brushes on the PowerDrive Connect, and start brushing out the grains for a pleasantly haptic texture. Finish off with the Connect Tynex Brush to smooth out the surface.
Fine-sanding before oiling
Switch back to sanding discs, and finalise your sanding with Bona Diamond Abrasives (grit 120), for a perfect scratch-free surface, ready for any oil colouring.
Care
Refresh
Regular cleaning is the key to a better, longer-lasting floor. Bona care solutions work effectively, without harming the surface or the environment.
Quick and straightforward with a great result; maintaining floors couldn't be easier. Bona Oil Soap removes dirt from surfaces gently-yet-effectively, leaving floors clean and refreshed, and it's suitable for both machine- and manual-cleaning.
Revive
Over time, wooden floor surfaces will become dull-looking from wear and dirt. Bona has developed a unique system, designed specifically to bring back the wood's natural lustre.
Using Bona PowerScrubber with Bona DeepClean W will reach deep down into the wood, and remove the toughest dirt, grime and scuff-marks. Taking care of oiled wood floors is a simple and straigtforward - but vitally important - task.
Restore
When a wooden floor's oil surface eventually starts wearing thin, becoming dull and losing its lustre, it's time to revitalise and protect it with a maintenance oil.
After thorough deep-cleaning with Bona PowerScrubber and Bona DeepClean W, the surface is ready for a fresh coat of protective Bona Oil Care. Apply it with Bona FlexiSand and Bona Wool Pad, and bring your floor back to life.
