The Bona Portable DCS 2.0 uses a Longopac system (continuous bag) to collect dust. This system eliminates the need to expose the collected dust to the job site when emptying the bag. GREENGUARD certified for indoor air quality.
The Bona FlexiSand Power Drive is now utilized by hundreds of contractors in the field. Why? It may be for the powerful 230v, 2.6 HP motor that provides an extremely flat floor. Or, it may be direction-free sanding and potential to only cut once with the belt machine. Who doesn’t want to reduce edging time by 50-80%? There are dozens of different sanding sequences and techniques to use this breakthrough machine. In some cases, the Bona Power Drive completely replaces the drum machine. In others, a floor may only require one cut with the big machine, and the Power Drive takes it from there.
Bona Certified Craftsman, Marcin Zyskowski, has found his preferred process for natural floors that leaves the best scratch pattern each and every time. Here is the sequence:
As a BCCP member, Marcin has been trained and tested by Bona to become part of a growing network of high quality hardwood professionals throughout the country. He has access to continued training and exclusive sales and marketing tools, and Euro Floors is listed on Bona’s contractor locator. Bona Certified Craftsmen also are involved in field testing new products, like the Bona PowerDrive. Our industry continues to mold and change, and innovative new products and sales support are at the top of Bona’s mind.
More housing units are being occupied, and that dictates a strengthening market in 2016. Higher mortgage rates will eventually take their toll as well. In 2017, housing construction will continue to increase and home prices will rise.
The number of housing units actually occupied increased by two million units in 2015, and only 1.1 million new units were built. So, the additional 900,000 units occupied came from previously-vacant housing.
The new occupancy comes partly from population growth, but that only accounts for half the increased demand. The other half comes from adult children moving out of their parents’ basements, singles living without roommates now, and couples getting divorced. This pool of people setting up new households isn’t large enough for many years of growth, but it’s good enough for a year or two.
Mortgage interest rates will rise, partly due to the Federal Reserve’s tightening and partly because global demand for credit will increase faster than global supply of savings. Historical patterns show that in the first and sometimes second year of rising mortgage rates, housing starts continue to rise, fueled by strong economic growth. Eventually, though, higher interest rates prevent further improvement in the housing market, and sometimes a contraction. So long as new construction isn’t overdone in 2016, it should level off in late 2017 and 2018, not an outright decline.
Home prices should reflect this trend: up for 12 to 18 months, then flat for a year or two.

Not only will this avoid potential cross-contamination between sealer and finish or sheens of finish, but using a seasoned applicator minimizes the "hairs and debris" more likely to shed off of a new applicator. Your final coat and happy customers will thank you! Keep your applicators clean and ready to go by rinsing thoroughly after each job and storing in a labeled, gallon or 2-gallon plastic baggy or plastic food tote (Tupperware). If you won't be using a particular applicator for an extended period of time, pop it in the freezer. Freezing will inhibit mold and mildew from growing and keeps your applicators fresher, longer.
