Only six months after project launch, progress has been made in several of the identified focus areas; job creation/women's empowerment, child labor elimination/access to education, citizen's centre, health and environment.
More children have been enrolled into school, and Hand in Hand has worked actively with child labor elimination by arranging awareness meetings. With a new Children Learning Centre established, school-going children can improve their learning skills.
The new Citizens’ Centre gives hundreds of people the opportunity to get e-literacy training and attend computer courses. The ongoing actions to help people improve their health and personal hygiene have already benefitted thousands of people in the village so far. Hand in Hand’s field team conducts information campaigns and cleaning camps, and promotes kitchen garden units as part of actions towards environmental improvements.
Further actions to improve welfare services and solve problems and issues in the Panchayat are to be made. Hand in Hand has by the results of a survey, chalked out a plan for addressing the underlined issues most effectively.
