Bona Celebrates Success of First Ever Bona Certified Craftsman Convention

Monday, March 10, 2014

It’s been about two weeks since Bona hosted its first ever Certified Craftsman Convention – it was a great success. The inaugural Bona Certified Craftsman Convention was hosted in Denver, Colorado from February 20-22. The convention brought together more than 150 attendees from 97 companies in the wood floor industry across the US and Canada.
The convention offered seven professional business seminars and four technical workshops in tandem with networking opportunities and a vendor plaza tailored specifically to meet the business development needs of a Bona Certified Craftsman.

“This event was unique in that it helped me learn tools to build my business in addition to learning about new skills,” said Dan Gorsegner, Owner, Gorsegner Brothers. “I had a chance to reconnect with old business colleagues and meet some new contacts in the industry. It was well worth my time.”
The event opened with a keynote speech by former NBA champion, three-time All American College Player and NBA Most Valuable Player, Bill Walton. In addition to the keynote speech, attendees met National Wood Floor Association (NWFA) president and CEO, Michael Martin, at an exclusive networking event.
“Events like these are important as the industry continues to evolve and grow,” said Michael Martin, CEO and president NWFA. “It was a fantastic opportunity for me to connect with businesses and discuss the direction of the hardwood floor industry. I would say the future looks bright.”
Bona also featured a variety of professional speakers including Andrew Davis, author, Brandscaping: Unleashing the Power of Partnerships; John Vachalek, founder and CEO, Webolutions; Colleen Stanley, founder and president SalesLeadership, Inc.; Erin Wright, vice president of human resources, BonaUS; and Mike Hanbery, director of new media strategies, Webolutions.
