About stone and tile

Stone is one of the oldest building materials known to man and is as popular today as it was a thousand years ago. Stone floors are often treated before leaving the factory, if not they will stain easily, so it's important to Dust, Clean and Maintain your stone floor properly. Floor tiles are extremely durable; water, stain, and wear-resistant, and easy to care for.

Dust & Clean

Things to think about when you Dust and Clean your stone or tile floor:

Protecting your stone and tile floors is simple. By routinely cleaning, you remove dust and dirt before they scratch and dull the finish, or wear away the floor.

Always keep water to a minimum when cleaning your floors. If you spill (food or drinks), wipe immediately to prevent any permanent damage or staining.

Sweep or vacuum your floors as often as needed. Use Bona’s mild, specially formulated Stone, Tile and Laminate Floor Refresher for best result, or the Bona Stone and Tile Floor Spray Mop. Just spray and wipe!

Do not use ”all-purpose” cleaners on your stone or tiled floors as they tend to leave a dull residue and you end up using too much water, which is damaging to your floors.

Maintaining

Things to think about when you maintain your stone or tile floor:

If your stone or tile floors are starting to look dull, you can use Bona’s specially formulated Stone, Tile and Laminate Floor Refresher to revive them.

Polish adds lustre to your dull stone and tile floors and acts as a layer of protection against wear and tear.

If you have newly installed a floor in an area where there is a high risk of spilling water, like in a kitchen, apply a polish to add a layer of protection.

Polish can be applied as needed but usually a few times a year. Always make sure the floor is cleaned before re-applying.
